On January 3-5, 2016, the 2016 Annual Meeting of the Allied Social Science Association (ASSA) took place in San Francisco. This event, which is one of the most prestigious annual economics conference in the world, was attended by over 13,000 international academics.
At this occasion, Jan Kregel (Tallinn University of Technology, member of FESSUD) gave a keynote speech entitled “What We Learned from the Global Financial Crisis” during the plenary opening of the three-day conference.
This year, the theme of financialisation was prominent in the programme of the Association for Social Economics at the Allied Social Science Association Annual Meeting, with many session-boosting presentations from researchers involved directly or indirectly with the FESSUD project, and with sessions on Financialisation and Inequality, Financialisation
and Institutional Changes, Financialisation and Policy, and Financialisation and Gender.
