is Professor of Economics and Finance at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. He specialises in monetary and financial economics and the economics of Michał Kalecki. He was an active participant in the EU funded Financial Integration and Social Cohesion research network between 2003 and 2006, and has contributed to the edited volume on Global Finance and Social Europe (Edward Elgar, 2009) that emerged from that project. He has advised the Icelandic Foreign Ministry, the Hungarian delegation to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Government of Sierra Leone on banking and monetary policy.
